The Santa Clara Broncos had a rough weekend at home, losing to USD 69-66 on Thursday and losing on Saturday 91-81 to BYU. A desperation three at the buzzer against San Diego didn’t fall, as the Broncos couldn’t hang on to a 32-28 halftime lead. Brandon Clark finished with 21, marking his 4th straight 20 point effort.

Key players John McArthur and Evan Roquemore didn’t play in Saturday’s loss to BYU for academic reasons, and it cost the Broncos in the 10 point loss on Saturday night. Freshman phenom Jared Brownridge had a career high 30 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Cougars hot shooting, who shot 61.5% from the field.

The Broncos fell to 10-11 overall and 3-5 in WCC play. They look to recover next week against Bay Area rival San Francisco Dons.
