Despite a valiant effort against Saint Mary’s, the Tigers dropped their second conference game against their bay-area rival by a total 6 points. Pacific held a seven point lead against the Gaels in the first half, but squandered it due to the hot three-point shooting of Kerry Carter, the slashing ability of Stephen Holt (which allowed him to shoot 19 free throws and the Tigers inability to guard center Brad Waldow.

The Tigers started freshman guard T.J. Wallace for the second straight game over senior Sama Taku, and it has paid off to a certain extent. Taku has played much better off the bench, scoring a total of 30 points and shooting 54.5 percent from the field in two games.
