Pepperdine has been the WCC’s biggest surprise so far in conference play.

The Waves, who were predicted to finish last in the WCC, are currently in second place. On top of that, Marty Wilson’s squad holds wins over BYU, Santa Clara and San Diego (2).

Malcolm Brooks has possibly been the WCC’s most surprising player as well. The junior college transfer is averaging 14.4 points during conference play, and has made 63.4% of the shots he has taken during that span. Brooks has been a massive reason why the Waves have taken the WCC by storm.
