After a slow start to conference play, the BYU Cougars have finally heated up. Since opening losses to LMU and Pepperdine, Dave Roses squad has rebounded nicely with a win against San Diego, and revenge wins against the Lions and the Waves.

Matt Carlino, who was chosen as the fifth best point guard in the conference in the preseason, has been relegated to back-up point guard, with Kyle Collinsworth now assuming ball-handling duties. With Collinsworth moved to point guard, Skylar Halford has been inserted into the starting lineup, where he has played admirably. Since being named a starter, Halford has averaged 16.0 points, which included a 2 point game against LMU. The Cougars are 3-0 with Carlino on the bench, proving Rose’s move to be advantageous to the overall team performance.
