The Waves came back from the Great Alaska Shootout with a 1-2 record and a 6th place finish. However, do not let the results fool you.
Pepperdine challenged two very solid squads – Green Bay and Indiana State – to the wire, and recorded a dominant victory over Denver. In the tournament, the frontcourt combination of Stacy Davis and Brendan Lane proved to be one of the best on the West Coast, and freshman point guard Jeremy Major really came into his own. The Pasadena, Calif. native averaged 12.3 points and 7.0 assists throughout the tournament, and made some clutch plays to keep the Waves competitive during their stay in Anchorage, Alaska.
