Idaho State Bengals
Monday, November 18th. San Francisco, California.
Last Season: 6-24 (4-13 Big Sky)
Idaho State is a relatively small D-1 school and relies heavily on guaranteed games as a revenue source for the program. Due to this fact, the Bengals typically have a road heavy schedule for basketball and their 2013-2014 schedule is no different. Idaho State plays heavily on the west coast this year and will come to San Francisco in the middle of a three game road trip starting in Arizona (ASU) and ending in Bakersfield (CSU-Bakersfield).
ISU coach Bill Evans is in his second year coaching the Bengals and is searching for the programs first winning season since 2002-2003. This year, the Bengals will redshirt a senior starter and expects to have a slew of new starters in the form of five JC transfers and three incoming freshman. Mix that with the team’s two top scorers returning and the equation for an improved season is complete. The Bengals will match-up well against the Dons on paper – they will have the bigger team. This one will be closer than most people expect.
