No. 7- Kerry Keating (Santa Clara)

By Josh Horton

After winning a CBI championship last season, Kerry Keating will be looking to replicate some of that success next season in what is considered a rebuilding year for the Bronco’s next season. The Broncos are graduating a bevy of crucial players, such as Kevin Foster and Marc Trasolini. Long story short, this year will be a great indicator of Keating’s coaching abilities, considering he is given a roster that is less talented in a conference that is more competitive than past years.

Keating has lead the Broncos to fourth place finishes in the conference four times in his six year tenure at Santa Clara. In 2011, he coached the Santa Clara team that won the CIT tournament. The following season, the Broncos went 8-22 and failed to record one WCC win. Granted, Santa Clara’s leading scorer Kevin Foster did not play for the majority of that season, but Keating’s first transition year went very poorly. Keating has a chance to make up for that in this season by once again by leading the Broncos to the top half of the West Coast Conference standings at the end of the season.
