No. 5- Matt Carlino (BYU)

By Andrew Perkins

Carlino finds himself at the crossroads of potential and production.  He has the talent that could very well have put him at #1 on our list, as evidenced by a 28-point outing against Santa Clara and a strong NIT run.  But he also has a tendency to force the issue, resulting in turnovers and poor shot selection.  With the graduation of Brandon Davies, the Cougars need another reliable playmaker to step up.  We’ve seen flashes that Carlino can be that guy, but will he be?  Cougar fans surely hope so.
