Gary Bell Jr. to Play Professionally in Poland

Former Gonzaga guard, Gary Bell Jr. has signed with Stabill Jezioro, a professional team in Poland.  This is the team that senior Gonzaga center, Przemek Karnowski played for prior to coming Gonzaga University in 2012.

This news was reported originally by KREM2 News in Spokane.  Here is the article that Evan Closky of KREM2 reported.

This is exciting for Bell Jr.  He worked out with some NBA teams, including the Utah Jazz and Portland Trailblazers, but I think that it will be good for Bell Jr. to play in Europe.  He will bring physicality, defense, and range to the European game.

In this past season Bell Jr. averaged 8.2 points per game, 2.4 rebounds per game, and 2.0 assists per game.  A lot of his game in his senior season hinged on his leadership.  He did a lot of things that might not show up on the stat sheet.  This includes permitter defense.  Bell Jr. will go down as one of the best defenders in all of Gonzaga history.

Bell Jr. joins former Gonzaga point guard Kevin Pangos as the second Gonzaga player to head over to Europe to play professionally.  Backcourt teammate Kevin Pangos has already signed to play professionally in Spain.

It is very exciting to see Gonzaga players continuing their basketball careers whether they are playing over seas or domestically.

Bell Jr. also just got married back on August 2.  This is an exciting time for Bell Jr. and his family.  I want to wish him the best of luck with his professional career.
