Kruize Pinkins Signs With a German Professional Team
By Mary Harvill
San Francisco Dons graduate and former star forward Kruize Pinkins has signed his first professional basketball contract and will take the next step in his basketball career with the Hebeisen White Wings, a German Pro A League team. The team is located in Hanau, Germany.
Pinkins, a WCC Honorable Mention selection during the 2013-14 season and the Dons second leading scorer in the 2014-15 season, averaged 13.9 points per game and was ranked 13th in the WCC in rebounding. He scored a career-high 30 points against Eastern Washington University, a team that ultimately played in the 2015 NCAA tournament first round games.
Pleased to have the opportunity to continue playing basketball professionally and grateful to his family, friends, coaches and former USF teammates for helping him reach this goal, Kruize is looking forward to joining the team in Germany and getting right to work.
USF Head Coach Rex Walters believes Kruize will do “important things on the basketball court” and “more importantly, in life”. Pinkins’ new coach, Simon Cote is equally enthusiastic about Kruize as a basketball player and as a person. Cote looks for players that are “a high character” people, “that are great teammates” and possess a “highly competitive nature” with “the hunger to improve.” Cote struck the jackpot in landing Kruize Pinkins and the positive impact he will have on the team and with the Hebeisen fans and Hanau community.
Congratulations Kruize from all of us at West Coast Convo. We wish you continued success on the basketball court and of course, in life.
