Pangos Continues Summer League Play With Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks played their third game of the 2015 NBA Summer League season against the Washington Wizards.  The Mavericks struggled for most of the game, but were able to make it a close game in the fourth quarter.  Ultimately, the Wizards were victorious by a score of 85-79.

Once again Kevin Pangos was the starting point guard for the Mavericks.  He played 26 minutes and in that time he had eight points, three assists, and three steals.  This was not his most impressive Summer League game, but it was still a solid outing.  He had some strong drives to the basket that he was able to finish with layups.  He also passed the ball well.  I’m sure he would have more assists if the team as a whole shot a little better.  Overall the Mavericks only shot 33.3% from the field including 9.7% from three on 3/31 shooting.

In this game Pangos played a bit more aggressively.  He was very active on defense.  His high hustle and stamina have carried over from college to NBA Summer League.  Another attribute that goes beyond the stat sheet is his passion and heart.  This is something that the commentators mentioned during the game.  He has a great love for the game and always gives every game his all.  He’s one of the most dedicated players in this Summer League season.

The Mavericks have played three Summer League games so far and have finished up their pool play.  After the rest of the pool games are finished a tournament bracket will come out and there will be more games to play.  These games are the last effort for some players to show NBA teams that they have the skills and abilities to play at a high level.
