One win can change a season. Santa Clara hopes it can improve its tournament hopes.

With a win against Pacific on Thursday, Santa Clara (12-16, 6-10 WCC) has a chance to improve their seed in the WCC Tournament with some help. If Saint Mary’s loses at San Francisco tonight, they can move to the seven spot with a win tonight.

The Broncos are coming of a much-needed win at Loyola Marymount on Saturday. They also beat Pacific (11-17, 3-13 WCC) on the road in a Dec. 29 rout of the Tigers. This combination of facts makes tonight’s game look promising for the Broncos.

This game doesn’t appear like it will be a rout. Pacific is dead last in the WCC, so they have nothing to lose. Look for that to be a huge factor Thursday night.

On paper, Santa Clara seems to have more talent. The dynamic duo of Brandon Clark and Jared Brownridge have led the team in points and assists. This game looks to be a prime opportunity for them to score and create plays. Look out for passes that will create opportunities for both of them to get good shots.

Even with a win against Santa Clara on Thursday, the Tigers would still remain be tied for last place with Loyola Marymount.

At the end of the day, this game should be closer than their first meeting at Pacific. Expect the Tigers to keep it interesting for most of the game. The Broncos will find a time in the second half to pull away, either with a scoring run or some late free throws.

The game tips of at 7:00PM PST Thursday and can be seen on TheW.tv.
