Meet the Teams

San Francisco

WCC conference play begins and the Dons, practicing on Christmas Day are ready.  Is nothing sacred anymore, even at Jesuit university? Tested in the pre-season by very tough teams, Pacific will be no exception. Can Pacific handle the USF front court of Mark Tollefsen, Kruize Pinkins and Matt Glover? Will Kruize Pinkins slow down on fouls after rendering himself useless to the team when he fouled out in regulation play and the game went to an OT loss against Cleveland State.

Pacific

Currently on a six game winning streak, Pacific will be on it. A very good team last year in their first season in the WCC, Pacific will be looking to make a statement this year and they are poised to do just that if they can knock off USF. Dulani Robinson earned Player of the Week honors last week after Pacific beat Nevada and Fresno State before that. TJ Wallace is another key player for the Tigers with 14 points and 6 rebounds per game. Gabriel Aguirre, Jacob Lampkin and Ray Bowles are also part of the Pacific talent arsenal.

One of the Tigers noteworthy pre-season losses was to Western Michigan 80-72 a Mid-American Conference member.  This team went fairly deep into the 2-14 NCAA tourn and a team that beat San Diego a few weeks ago. Our West Coast Conference power rankings currently have the Tigers at #8 (out of 10 teams) and this is one of the teams that we believe will be a rising star in the WCC this year.
