Dulani Robinson’s Heroics Propel Pacific to Victory

It took a newcomer to save the day in Pacific’s 71-68 win over Fresno State, the school’s second straight win over the Bulldogs.
Pacific and Fresno State were trading punches early after the Tigers rattled off a 12-3 run in the first half to open up a lead. Despite the fact that Pacific led the entire second half, Fresno State tied the game with a 3-point basket by Marvelle Harris with 17 seconds left. Junior guard Dulani Robinson connected on a 3-pointer of his own with 1.1 seconds left to give the Tigers the lead and the win.

Gabriel Aguirre led the Tigers with 15 points, a career high for the senior. Sophomore point guard T.J. Wallace chipped in 12 points, while David Taylor and Robinson contributed 11 points apiece in the win. Freshman forward Jacob Lampkin grabbed a team-high eight boards in the win, while redshirt freshman Ray Bowles’ five assists led the team.
Pacific shot 51.9 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from 3-point ranger in the victory.
For Fresno State, Julien Lewis and Harris were driving forces, scoring 29 and 26 points respectively. FSU only got nine other points from their other three starters and three points from their bench. Lewis led the Bulldogs with six rebounds, while Harris’ four assists were a team-high.
This game wraps up non-conference play for the Tigers, who finished the stretch with an 8-4 record. Pacific will host San Francisco on Dec 27 (Saturday) to start off WCC, followed by Santa Clara on Dec 29 (Monday).
