Former Gonzaga shooting guard Steven Gray plans to suit up for the Cleveland Cavaliers’ NBA Summer League team, NBA.com and SNY.tv insider Adam Zagoria reported.

Most recently suiting up for the French A league BCM Gravelines, the Bainbridge Island, Wash. native has not seen NBA action since playing with the Washington Wizards during the 2011 preseason. Gray went undrafted in the 2011 NBA draft after a strong four-year career as a Zag, and has bounced around teams in Europe ever since.

After a failed attempt at making the Wizards roster in 2011, Gray went oversees signing with BK Ventspils in Latvia.  In the following two years he tested the French A League, playing with Chorale Roanne Basket and BCM Gravelines.

Most Zags remember the four year contributor not just as a scoring leader, but also a truly unique character who excelled in much more than basketball.  Now the poster child of Gonzaga’s Study Abroad program in Zambia, a summer of Gray’s college years was spent outside the basketball bubble that can enclose high profile college players.

Whether a feasible D-League or even an NBA opportunity spurs from his time in the summer league, the 25 year old will attempt to salvage a closing window on the NBA.
