Halfway through conference season, Dickinson requested a leave of absence from the team for personal reasons, and missed the rest of the season. The 6-foot-9 forward was reportedly involved in a verbal altercation after the Lions Jan. 16 loss to the Portland Pilots, and never returned to action after the incident occurred.

This offseason it was unsurprisingly announced that Dickinson would transfer.

Dickinson was at LMU for a total of two seasons. While playing for the Lions this past season, Dickinson averaged 8.5 points and 3.6 rebounds and was an integral part of the success the Lions experienced in the non-conference slate.

The Alexandria, Va. native sat out the 2012-2013 season due to NCAA transfer rules after transferring from Binghamton. UNC Greensboro will become the third school Dickinson has played for in four years, barring a setback.

While it was almost a foregone conclusion that Dickinson was not going to be with the program next season, Dickinson is a tough loss for the program. At times, Dickinson was far and above the Lions best post player last season. If he establishes any type of consistency, UNC Greensboro will be getting a solid player that should hypothetically be able to make an immediate impact.

Along with Dickinson, four other Lions have left the programs. On top of that, three signed recruits and a verbal commits have reopened their commitments.

Needless to say, it’s been a turbulent offseason for the Lions.
