#1 – KC Knee Injury

This is my ode to Kyle Collinsworth; for it is he who become the object of many a man crush across the Wasatch Front. KC was the do-it-all guy for BYU. His stat line of 14/8/5 would make most guards jealous. He was in the middle of a torrid run through the WCC Tournament when, in a struggle of a game against Gonzaga, Collinsworth went down with a knee injury.

The hope is that he will be able to play when the season starts in November; however, the recovery process may take longer than that. One cannot help but think of Kyle’s brother, Chris, who saw his basketball career cut short because of injuries. Hopefully Kyle can make a full recovery and get back to creating havoc on the court as soon as comfortably possible.

It was unfortunate that the Cougars had to head into the NCAA Tournament without Big Russia in the line up. His contributions are varied. His contributions are great. His spirit is bright and his character strong. And for this, I lament KC’s knee injury and place it as the number one memorable occurrence of the 2013-2014 BYU men’s basketball season.
