HONORABLE MENTION

Tyler Torches Texas
Tyler Haws had two points going into half-time of a tight one against the Longhorns. After the half it was a different story, though. The Ty-crowave went off for 23 points in the second stanza, including some key buckets down the stretch to seal the victory. That night, Haws proved that he has the ability to take over a game.

Carlino Goes Off Against the Pilots

The first time BYU and Portland met, it was a wild thriller. Matt Carlino made sure that the second meeting was nothing like the first. The polarizing point guard put up 30 points, with 24 of those coming from long range. Click here to relive Matty Basketball’s ice cold display of bucket getting.

Eric Mika and the Eye Poke of Doom

Down 82-77 with 3:28 left, Eric Mika gathered himself to go up for a dunk but instead got an eyeful… of fingers. BYU ultimately lost the game 90-88. Some argue that Mika may have been able to stop Georges Niang from owning the game down the stretch. You could also argue that the four ensuing free throws got BYU back in the game when it looked like Iowa State was going to start pulling away. Either way, this stuff looked painful.
