N0. 4 Stacy Davis (Pepperdine)

Preseason Rank: 2

Stacy Davis is one of the most physically imposing and productive players in the WCC at this stage of his career. Did I mention he is only a sophomore?

Long story short, the future is bright for Pepperdine with Davis possessing two more years of eligibility.

National pundits wrote off the Waves after losing a cast of starters and key leaders to graduation and transfer. Adding freshman guards Jeremy Major and Amadi Udenyi, as well as junior college transfer Malcolm Brooks and UCLA transfer Brendan Lane made for a good combination, as the Waves finished fifth this season in the final West Coast Conference standings.

Statistically, Davis outdid his freshman campaign that initially put his name out there. The Phoenix, Ariz. native averaged 15.1 points and 7.6 rebounds, leading the team in both categories. He accomplished this despite ending the season as the team’s sixth man after Marty Wilson elected to start Jett Raines over Davis.

As I alluded to before, the future is bright for the Waves with Davis in the picture. Although he is undersized, he is physically imposing on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor, and is able to produce despite his lack of size for the position.

Davis is on track to climb to the top of these rankings when his career is all said and done.
