No. 5 – Matt Glover (San Francisco)

Preseason Rank: NR

Matt Glover has been a lot of places in college basketball, but it seems he has finally found his home at the University of San Francisco.

After brief stints at Sheridan Community College and Penn State, Glover transferred to USF and immediately took on a big role.

Glover possesses a physically imposing style, which let him excel in the Big 10 at Penn state, earned him playing time immediately for the Dons. The 6’5” junior started every single game for the Dons this season and averaged 28.1 minutes this season.

Like most small forwards are supposed to operate, Glover is a jack-of-all-trades for the Dons. This past season, Glover averaged 8.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists. In addition to scoring, rebounding and passing, he is also a phenomenal defender and uses his size and strength to overwhelm players in front of him.

Glover will likely play an increased role next season when he returns for his senior year. With Cole Dickerson leaving, the team will need an increased presence on the glass, something of which Glover can provide. Even with a player like Dickerson leaving, returning Glover should help immensely. Don’t be surprised to see the Dons in the NCAA tournament next season if all of their pieces come together.
