4. Kyle Collinsworth – BYU

Preseason Rank: NR

The fact that Collinsworth falls at number four on our list is a testament to the quality of the players ahead of him.  “Big Russia” can best be described as a Swiss army knife in a basketball uniform; he averaged 14 points, 8.1 points and 4.6 assists per game.  Collinsworth also shot the ball at a 49.7 percent clip, which is exceptional for a point guard.  His size and athleticism creates mismatches on the offensive end and allows KC to defend multiple positions on the defensive end.  He was certainly a huge factor in BYU’s success this season.

What was a great year came to an unfortunate end for Kyle, as he tore an ACL in the WCC Championship game against Gonzaga.  In two WCC tournament games, Collinsworth went for 23/16/2 and 18/12/2.  The Cougars surely could have used him against Oregon in the Big Dance.  Fingers are crossed that he can make a full and speedy recovery!
