The Gaels split road games this week where a cold shooting night would lead to a 62-73 loss at USF. Saint Mary’s shot a poor 19% (5-26) from 3-point range while the Dons shot 50% (7-14) and controlled most of the game and never allowed the Gaels to make a run.

Saint Mary’s rebounded with a 76-54 blowout win at Santa Clara where Stephen Holt would pour in a career high 35 points on 14-17 shooting. The Gaels would go up by as much as 30 points, playing stellar defense and holding the Broncos to a 10 minute stretch without a bucket in the first half. Saint Mary’s shot 64 percent (9-14) from 3-point range while holding Santa Clara to 21% (3-14).
