A single victory would have earned the Bulldogs an outright conference championship. Instead, the Bulldogs dropped two games to BYU and San Diego to delay that championship.

The Zags now need to take care of business in at least one of their next two matchups in order to clinch the title. Gonzaga travels to Northern California to take on Pacific and Saint Mary’s to finish the season.

However, winning the WCC regular season championship might not be the Zags biggest concern moving forward. With a weaker resume, a WCC tournament championship could be essential to making the NCAA tournament this season. If the Bulldogs do not punch their ticket to the big dance in Vegas, then they could be in trouble of missing the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1998.
