The mid-season slump continued for the Broncos on Saturday night, with Santa Clara losing in a matchup of Bay Area rivals 69-63 to the USF Dons. The loss marks 8 of their last 9, and puts them in a tie for last in the conference.

It was the same old story on Saturday, as the Broncos got killed down low. Their entire front court combined for 10 points, and gave up a combined 52 points and 28 rebounds to the starting front court of USF. Balanced and productive guard play could not overcome their shortcomings down low. They are at home this week against Pacific and St. Mary’s, and they look to gain some momentum heading into the tournament.
