The Waves held their ground at home and trounced the LMU Lions by 11 points to notch a point for themselves in the PCH Cup, the two schools competition amongst each other.
Marty Wilson made a surprise starting lineup change on Saturday, starting sophomore forward Jett Raines over the heralded Stacy Davis. It paid off, as Raines scored 15 points and grabbed 8 boards in the Pepperdine victory.
Pepperdine hosts Pacific and San Francisco this week. A pair of victories would put a lot of pressure on San Francisco, BYU and Saint Mary’s to perform, or else the Waves will jump them in the standings.
