San Francisco has a challenging task on their hands. That task is bouncing back after a tough loss to the BYU Cougars at home.
Unfortunately for the Dons, San Diego is starting to pick up their play recently, winning two out of their last three games.
The Dons are still looking to find consistent point guard play this season, and will need to find it soon. Avry Holmes had an admirable performance (16 points, 5 assists and 3 turnovers), but it’s certainly a step down from the Dons previous floor general Cody Doolin.
Thankfully for San Francisco, many of their post players are stepping up and producing. In the Dons loss against BYU, Cole Dickerson recorded his fifth double-double of the season with 26 points and 14 rebounds. Kruize Pinkins pitched in 14 points and 7 rebounds as well.
For the Toreros, they need to ignite Johnny Dee once more. Dee is in the midst of a shooting slump, which has slightly hindered the performance of San Diego this season. In the past four games, Dee shot an underwhelming 34.6 percent from the field, as well as only averaging 7.5 points. If the Toreros want to make a run in the upcoming WCC games, they need Dee to find his shooting stroke.
