West Coast Convo’s All-WCC First Team

F – Cole Dickerson
By James Stapleton
Cole Dickerson seems to be a quiet guy. He keeps his emotions in check on the court and takes care of business during the game. However, this quiet small forward from San Francisco is clearly one of the best players in the WCC.
San Francisco lost 70% of their scoring after the 2011-2012 season, and the Green & Gold were left the daunting task of finding a “go-to-guy” to score points. By the end of last season, the Dons knew Cole was their guy, as he led the team in scoring. A few times during the year, Dickerson hit a late three to boost USF into the win column. Cole also led the Dons in rebounding – a stat that was heavily scarce on the 2012-2013 squad.
This year, keep an eye out for Cole Dickerson to dictate the pace of Dons games early in a contest. Cole’s success early in a game will directly correlate with the Dons’ opportunity to use all five guys on the floor to beat opponents. Moreover, the additions of Kruize Pinkins and growth of Tao Xu can ultimately compliment Dickerson’s effectiveness on the floor while being effective with his minutes.
