Center Ryan Keenan from East Ridge (MN) committed to the men’s basketball program at Pepperdine on Saturday. According to Verbal Commits, Pepperdine was Keenan’s only offer, and college basketball and recruiting writer Ryan James reported that Keenan was offered on his official visit to Malibu this past weekend.

Pepperdine head coach Marty Wilson gave his twitter followers a hint to the staffs future recruiting endeavors, which is apparent in the following tweet:

Although there is not a lot of information on Keenan, it is clear he has something that the Pepperdine staff has been looking for this recruiting period; size.

The average height of the three Pepperdine commits are 6 foot 9 inches, and it is evident that the Waves staff is using the 2014 class to establish their future front-court. With Nate Gehring and AJ John already on board, Pepperdine has potentially found its small forward, power forward, and center for the future. That is not the easiest task in the slightest, but the Waves staff has managed to do so.

Fun Fact: Keenan comes from a basketball family. His father Dane Keenan has been the head men’s basketball coach at Harding high school in St. Paul, Minn. since 1996.
