Louisiana Tech or UNC Greensboro (Gulf Coast Classic)

Tuesday, November 26th. Estero, Fla. (Germain Arena).

Last Season (UNC Greensboro): 9-22 (6-12 Southern).

Last Season (LA Tech): 27-7 (16-2 WAC). NIT Second Round.

The second matchup could present a great challenge for San Diego. Although it is too early to say for sure, the Toreros will most likely play Louisiana Tech if they win their first round matchup. The Bulldogs had a great season last year, and are poised for an even better one this year. LA Tech returns leading scorers Raheem Appleby (14.7 PPG), Cordarius Johnson (7.9 PPG), and Alex Hamilton (7.8 PPG). Those three comprise the backcourt, and Johnny Dee and Christopher Anderson will be tested greatly. As for UNC-Greensboro, the Spartans could struggle in the upcoming season. Double-digit scorers Trevis Simpson (18.7 PPG) and Derrell Armstrong (14.7 PPG) are gone, and UNC-Greensboro will be hard pressed to find suitable replacements for their scoring.
