San Diego State
Thursday, December 5th. San Diego, Calif. (Jenny Craig Pavilion).
Last Season: 23-11 (9-7 MWC). NCAA Tournament Second Round.
These intra-city rivals will have their annual showdown in the Jenny Craig Pavilion. The Aztecs lead the all-time series between these two 27-17, and have won 9 out of the last 10 matchups. The Aztecs lost leading scorers Jamaal Franklin and Chase Tapley, but added Tulane transfer Josh Davis, who is eligible to play immediately. Davis was a force in C-USA last season (17.6 PPG, 10.7 RPG) and will be an extremely tough matchup for the Toreros’ frontcourt. FormerWashingtonState Cougar Xaiver Thames will lead the scoring charge from the guard position. The Aztecs will be tough, but anything can happen in a rivalry game.
