Coach Eric Reveno teased at a possible transfer via. twitter on April 29 after freshman Jake Ehlers decides to leave Portland

Two West Coast Conference commits in one day? I can dig it!

The tweet above says it all. Jason Todd, a 6-5, 190 lb wing from Mill Creek, Wash. (Jackson High School), has committed the University of Portland. The final two contenders for Todd’s services were Portland and Santa Clara, and the Pilots won on the Todd sweepstakes. Pacific was also in the mix.

I was able to watch Todd play at the Northwest Premier Showcase at Bellevue College in Bellevue, Washington, and he displayed a great deal of offensive fortitude. He has savvy for putting the ball in the basket, and has a knack for using his size and strength to get to the hoop. He also can crash the glass and get rebounds. Todd projects to be a small forward at the next level.

After missing out on Gabriel Vincent, Grant Sims, and Kaleb Warner, it must be reassuring to the Pilot faithful that Todd committed to Portland. His style of play is quintessential for the WCC, and Todd could be a legitimate contender for the scoring title in the WCC.

All the domino’s appear to be falling for WCC recruiting, Pacific, Santa Clara, Gonzaga, San Francisco, and now Portland have now landed recruits in the past month. Pilot fans can now take a sigh of relief.
