South Dakota State – USD Tournament
Saturday, November 9th. San Diego, California.
Last Season: 25-9 (13-3 Summit). NCAA Tournament First Round.
The Jackrabbits will go into the 2013-2014 season with a real predicament: finding a replacement for Nate Wolters. Wolters averaged 22.7 points per game during his senior year at SDSU, and was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 38th pick in the 2013 NBA draft. He is a tantalizing player, and will be sorely missed by the Jackrabbits. However, things are not all bad for South Dakota State. Two of the Jackrabbits top scorers last season, forward Jordan Dykstra (12.5 PPG) and guard Chad White (9.8 PPG), are returning this season. Dykstra also led the Jackrabbits in rebounds with 7.9 per game.
It is a real shame that Wolters graduated last year; an Anthony Ireland-Nate Wolters matchup would have been a treat to watch.
