This morning, the Gonzaga Bulldogs landed a commitment from class of 2014 point guard Josh Perkins from Regis, Colorado. Perkins announced his decision this morning on a local Denver television station, and there is a great chance that many Bulldog fans streamed the announcement online to see Perkins commit to Gonzaga. Perkins chose the Bulldogs over Minnesota and UCLA.

The 6’3”, 186 pound point guard is arguably the biggest commit that Gonzaga has ever landed. Perkins is ranked as high as the 24th overall player on ESPN, which would make him the highest ranked recruit to ever commit to the Bulldogs. There has been a ton of hype surrounding a Perkins commitment to Gonzaga around the college basketball community the last few weeks, and today it came into fruition.

Obviously, this is a phenomenal commitment for the Bulldogs. Perkins is the second commit from the 2014 class, joining Silas Melson, a shooting guard from Portland, Oregon. Perkins is considered one of the best passers in the nation, and bringing him on could lure other top recruits across the country to Spokane. The 2014 recruiting class is coming together very nicely for the Bulldogs already.

This is an exciting time for the Bulldogs, and for the WCC in general. While you take in this huge commitment, watch Perkins tantalizing highlight tape.
