WCC Recruiting Q & A: Armond Davis
By Josh Horton
From Armond Davis
Last year Lincoln high school had one of the most talented rosters in the whole state of Washington. The Abes featured two Pac-12 commits, Tre’Shaun Fletcher who signed with Colorado, and Ahmaad Rorie who has a verbal with California. Although class of 2014 shooting guard Armond Davis has not committed to a school in a major conference such as the Pac-12 yet, he was an integral part of Lincoln’s big three last season.
The long and lanky Davis has a physique that is tailor-made for Division 1 basketball. Davis is 6’5″, and has extremely long arms to compliment his wiry frame. At the Seattle Summer Showcase at Bellevue College, I was able to watch Davis put his talents on display with his AAU team I-5 elite. What I saw was an exciting talent that excels in multiple facets of the game. He handles the ball, shoots it, and plays constricting defense. What impressed me the most was how involved he was on every single play. The kid is a playmaker, plain and simple. I was able to ask Davis some questions about his AAU season, his basketball plans for next season, and his recruitment.
How did your AAU season with 1-5 Elite go?
It went really well. I wish I could have played with them longer, it was a great experience.
How did you guys play in Vegas?
We played pretty good. I feel that we could have made it farther though, we let our last game slip away in the second half.
Last season you played with Cal commit Ahmaad Rorie at Lincoln High School and you all had a lot of success. Are you playing there again next season?
No, I will not be playing there next season.
Where will you be playing next season then?
I am going to be playing at Henry Foss High School.
Any particular Reason for the Transfer?
It was a transportation issue.
How has your recruitment gone thus far?
It has been great. I’ve got some really good offers and interest from Divison 1 schools.
What schools have shown you the most interest?
Boise State, Nevada, New Mexico, Saint Joseph’s, USC, Utah State, and Washington State.
How many offers do you hold right now and from which schools?
I have four offers right now from Montana State, Northern Colorado, Pepperdine, and Seattle.
What WCC schools have been talking to you lately?
I’ve heard from Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, Portland, and Saint Mary’s.
Any Visits Planned Right Now?
I don’t have any visits planned right now.
