As we delve deeper into the doldrums of the offseason, I thought it would be interesting to look back at some of the best, worst, or just flat out interesting things to ever come out of the West Coast Conference. In the first installment of many flashback fridays to come, we look at the high-flying former Pepperdine guard, Keion Bell.

Keion Bell was one of my favorite players to watch play in the WCC. He was ridiculously athletic and at times it looked like he was going to jump and just soar right out of the gym. He threw down some absolutely enormous dunks during his time at Pepperdine, including one over Toronto Raptors small forward Demar Derozen when Derozen played at USC. I always thought that Bell was the type of player that should be playing in a major conference, and eventually that came into fruition when Bell transferred to Missouri to play his final season. However, before he left Malibu he had one of the most memorable dunks in WCC history at Pepperdine’s version of midnight madness in 2010.

Granted, he did propel himself slightly by pushing off the first person, but still; jumping over 7 people is absurd. The previous year at midnight madness, Bell jumped over 5 human beings, which landed him on sports centers top plays. In this particular midnight madness, Bell truly outdid himself. He lined up 7 people from tallest to shortest, who consisted of three of his teammates on the Pepperdine basketball team, 2 women’s basketball players, a student manager, and a child that was chosen from the audience, leaped over all of them and threw down a  dunk at the rim. It was a treat to watch.

Before the dunk is shown in the video above, it displays Bells other dunks in the dunk contest, which are pretty entertaining as well.
