No. 3- Przemek Karnowski (Gonzaga)

By Josh Horton

At 7’1″300 pounds, the incoming sophomore just oozes potential due to his elite size combined with a bevy of skills down low. Karnowski is indigenous of Poland, and assistant coach Tommy Lloyd found what he and the rest of the Gonzaga staff thinks is going to be a diamond in the rough. However, this diamond hasn’t quite been dug up yet. Last season, Karnowski averaged 5.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per game for the bulldogs while being stuck behind all-american big man Kelly Olynyk. The Boston Celtic draftee’s stellar play resulted in a lack of playing time for the Polish center. However this year, that will change. With Olynyk and Elias Harris gone, it leaves a lot more playing time for post players on the Gonzaga roster, and Karnowski will likely assume a starting role. Some scouts have raved over his skill set, and now it’s time for Karnowski to put it on display. This year will be a huge tell as to which type of foreign treasure Karnowski is, a diamond or just fool’s gold.
