In a game that pitted two former Gonzaga alums against each other, Kelly Olynyk and the Celtics took down Micah Downs and the Pacers by a score of 76-74. Phil Pressey, formerly of the University of Missouri, hit two free throws with about 10 seconds left to put the Celtics up by two points, and ultimately winning the game for Boston.
Olynyk was the most dominant player on the court once again: he finished with 21 points and was just 1 rebound short of recording a double-double. His 21 points and 9 rebounds led all scorers and rebounders in the contest. Olynyk also finished with 4 assists and 0 turnovers on the day. He had the best +/- on the Celtics team today by a landslide, with a +15.
Micah Downs did not make as big of an impact as Olynyk in this matchup. Downs had 3 points and 3 rebounds in the loss for the Pacers. He was 1-4 shooting and 1-2 from beyond the three-point line this morning. He did hit a three pointer that looked very good coming out of his hands, showing off his eloquent shooting stroke. Downs playing time is increasing game by game, which would be a good sign for him.
