The Torero’s bats really struggled to get going against UCLA in there regional final game, which they lost by a score of 6 to 0. The Torero’s combined for zero runs, off of only one hit. San Diego just looked fatigued after playing a game earlier today, and their bats just were not working the way that they may have wanted to in this one.

The Torero’s struggles can partly be attributed to UCLA pitcher Grant Watson, who pitched seven innings of shutout ball. He only let up one hit, in addition to his one walk combined with five strikeouts. The San Diego lineup had little success against Watson, who looked absolutely dominant in this contest.

All-american third baseman Kris Bryant continued his struggles in this one. He had 0 hits off four at bats, and looked frustrated throughout the course of the game. He hit a few fly balls that looked like they were going to be hit out of the park, but they held up right at the warning track.

The San Diego Torero’s finish off this season with an overall record of 37-25. These players should not hang their head, considering they finished the season as the most successful team in the WCC this year. Their conference tournament championship and their appearance in a regional final are attributes to that.
