Australia and Ukraine Win on Day 4 of FIBA World Cup

The two WCC alumni playing in the FIBA World Cup both notched victories for their respective countries today, improving both team’s records to 2-1 in pool play.

Here is how those individual players fared today:

Jeter Helps Ukraine to Victory

While Pooh Jeter did not post any eye-popping statistics, the former University of Portland star and the Ukrainian National Team defeated Turkey by a score of 64-58.

Jeter finished the contest with 10 points and six assists. From a shooting standpoint, Jeter struggled with a field goal percentage of 20 percent (two of 10) and a 3-point percentage of 20 percent (one of five). Despite the struggles, Jeter was an integral part of the squad with a team high 33 minutes played.

Ukraine plays again tomorrow, with a 6:00 a.m. PST tip-off against the New Zealand National Team.

Dellavedova and Australia Prevail over Lithuanian

Australia tallied their second victory in the FIBA World Cup this morning with an 82-75 win over Lithuania.

Matthew Dellavedova scored 12 points, grabbed two rebounds and dished out two assists in the win. The Australian floor general played 27 minutes and shot four of nine from the field.

The Australians are back in action tomorrow, as the Boomers take on the Mexican National Team at 4:30 a.m. PST.
