Two former WCC players were still in action at the Las Vegas Summer League. Here is how they ended up.

The Charlotte Hornets and Mickey McConnell were eliminated from the Las Vegas Summer League today, losing to the Houston Rockets by a score of 83-79. McConnell had five points and four assists in the loss.

Throughout the Summer League, McConnell scored 7.6 points per game, grabbed 2.6 boards per game and dished out 4.6 assist per games for the Hornets. The former Saint Mary’s Gael had some brilliant performances – 19 points against Golden State and 11 assists versus the Pelicans – but some bad ones as well. McConnell was on the brink of making the Mavericks roster last season, and it will be interesting to see if an NBA team will take a chance on McConnell in training camp.

The Kings handily defeated the Washington Wizards, defeating the Eastern Conference foe by a score of 74-60. Brendan Lane appeared in 11 minutes, and scored four points during that span. He also grabbed a board. Unfortunately for Lane, he left the fourth quarter with an apparent ankle injury. Lane’s status is uncertain at this point.

Sacramento moves on to the finals of the NBA Las Vegas Summer League with the victory, and they will take on the Houston Rockets tomorrow at 6 p.m. PST.
