Per his twitter account, 2014 C Matt Hubbard committed to Santa Clara last night on his official visit. The Colville, Wash. native received heavy interest from both Santa Clara and Pacific, but in the end it was Kerry Keating and the Bronco’s that were able to land the services of Hubbard.

Hubbard currently plays his high school ball for Colville High School in Colville, Wash., which is about an hour and a half north of Spokane, Wash.

The 6-10 center has very active hands in the post, and does an excellent job of keeping the ball at shoulder level on the block. Hubbard also has a nice shooting stroke and could develop into an inside-out type of post. Hubbard does look a little thin and putting on some muscle wouldn’t hurt him.

After landing commitments from two guards, Stephen Edwards and Evan Wardlow, it was only fitting that the Broncos brought in a big man to complement their future backcourt. Assuming that Robert Garrett and Yannick Atanga do not leave, Hubbard will be able to learn under them for his freshman season. A redshirt year would probably do him some good, so he could refine his skills and put on some weight.
