Chris Reyes No Longer At Saint Mary’s

Recently Saint Mary’s posted its 2013-2014 Men’s Basketball roster on its website, and there was one noticeable omission: freshman forward Chris Reyes. I followed up with the athletic department, and they confirmed that Reyes is no longer enrolled at Saint Mary’s. That was it. I don’t want to speculate on anything, but here is the bottom line:
1. With the graduation of Mitchell Young, I predicted Beau Levesque to play 25 mpg at the PF position this season, and with Matt Hodgson being the primary backup center behind Brad Waldow, Chris Reyes to play roughly 10-15 mpg. With his departure, this surely means that Aussie freshman Dane Pineau will take over the majority of the minutes, along with transfer Garrett Jackson.
2. With Levesque graduating next year, Randy Bennett and company have to come up with a plan to replace Reyes for the upcoming years. My prediction: newly hired Marty Clarke will play a role in bringing in another talented Aussie via the renowned pipeline.
