No. 5- Mark Tollefsen (USF)

By James Stapleton

Dons fans last year were excited for Mark’s arrival off a redshirt season. This Bay Area native from Danville, CA, made a name for himself in the preseason during USF’s 2012 “SF HoopSFest”. He took home the dunk contest crown over Frank Rogers, De- End Parker and Tim Derksen. Unfortunately, his success in the preseason did not directly lead to a strong start to the regular season. Tollefsen only found minutes off the bench for the majority of the 2012-2013 season until his first start in mid-February. Even though he had a late start, Tollefsen ended the season as the 5th highest scorer on the Green & Gold squad with an average of 7.2 points per game. Hopefully, Mark returns to the Hilltop in 2013 with some more muscle and some solid confidence. His success on the court may give USF a boost when it is least expected.
